Physical Networks Working Group

5G and beyond will provide features and application areas that cannot be compared to the previous generation and will be used in vertical sector applications as well as the need for high bandwidths in some applications with very low latency requirements and the need to communicate with thousands of devices at the same time. There are many areas for technological capabilities that 5G and beyond systems will need, such as working at higher frequencies, researching more efficient use and management of the spectrum, implementing appropriate spectrum sharing techniques, and developing new network architectures. The main topics in which studies and work are carried out by the Physical Network Group are listed below:

New Radio

Cloud RAN

Integrated Antenna and Radio Products

Multiple Antenna (Massive MIMO) Design

Milimeter Wave

Optical Communication and Terahertz Systems

New Waveforms and Design

Channel Modeling

Low Power Radio Access Points (Small Cell)
